This was the second episode of The Pulse which I produced along with my co-director.

The Pulse

PROJECTS: GRADE 12

As a Senior at Manchester High School, I entered into a leadership role as a part of Manchester's award winning broadcast journalism program. Together, the three other directors and I looked to further improve our program by designing new graphics, and implementing many other small changes into the program. As a veteran in the program, I was also responsible for editing together many short videos for other events around the school. Finally, a group of students and I helped to start a live news program, Live for 5.

As a director of our weekly news program, I oversaw the production of the program with my co-director Kyle Smith. We were responsible for selecting stories, reviewing scripts, writing the script for the studio shoot, and editing the finished videos in a final production as well as sharing that production with the Manchester community through YouTube, our website, Twitter, and Facebook. Below are the episodes of the Pulse that my class produced for the 2017-2018 school year.

Other Projects
Sample 1: Miss MHS Trailer

Two fellow students and I wrote, filmed and edited this trailer for the annual Miss MHS pageant at our high school. It aired on the Pulse and was also played at the beginning of the show itself. It features various camera transitions, video filters, and original graphics.

Other Projects

During my senior year I was also responsible for producing many other important videos for the school and the community because of my experience and skill in Broadcast Journalism. Below are a few of the projects which I created outside of the Pulse or Live for 5 for the 2017-2018 school year.

Live for 5

At the start of the 2017-2018 school year, a new schedule was announced with a 30 minute block in the morning for students to get extra help. The principle talked to myself and a group of other students and asked us to create a live announcements program that would be run during this time. We came up with the idea of "Live for 5," a 5 minute live production with any necessary school announcements. I was chosen to be graphics director and created a logo and other necessary graphics using Adobe Photoshop. I also edited together the introduction for this program.

Sample 1: The Pulse 10 / 20 / 2017

This was the first episode of The Pulse which I produced along with my co-director. It includes new graphics which I created using Adobe After Effects and a new introduction which my co-directors and I filmed and edited for this year's program.

Sample 3: The Pulse 11 / 22 Special Edition

This episode of the Pulse was produced as practice for the Crazy 8's completion at the Student Television Network Convention. following contest guidelines, this entire 8 minute program was put together in 8 hours and portrayed the theme, "A Running Town Tradition"

Sample 4: The Pulse 12 / 01 and "Running for Extra Credit"

This was the third episode of The Pulse which I produced along with my co-director. I also reported on and edited the story about students running for extra credit.

Sample 1: Live for 5 Episode 1

This was the very first episode of Live for 5. In this episode, you can see the lower-third and box graphics which I made in Photoshop as well as the introduction which I edited.
